Duration

One semester or two semesters. You can begin your studies in either Spring Semester (March–July) or Fall Semester (September–January).

Course load

The normal unit (subject) load is three or four units per semester.

Courses can’t be chosen across schools or semesters.

Chinese Learning

Study abroad students get one free Chinese language course (beginning) if there is no time conflict with other major unit.

Eligibility

• Currently enrolled at university.
• Completed two years of university study.

Application and Required documents

(1) Please apply online by visiting http://apply.isc.bit.edu.cn, and upload materials below:

① Transcripts at home university (English version with signature and/or seal by the student’s home university)

② One letter of recommendation by home university staff

③ Statement of Purpose clearly indicating duration and purpose of study, preferred technical work or experience and academic background

④ Photocopy of Passport

⑤ Photo of applicant

(2) Student in undergraduate study shall apply as a “general visiting student” and student in graduate study shall apply as a “senior visiting student” in exchange program.

(3) If you are admitted after documents evaluation, BIT will send you an Admission Notice and JW202 Form by mail.

 Application Time

• Application for spring semester: Oct.15th- Jan.15th
• Application for fall semester: Mar.15th- June.15th

Tuition fees

The study abroad is CNY 15,000 per semester.

Scholarship will be offered according to your academic performance.

Other costs

Application fee is CNY 500.

Medical insurance fee is CNY 300 / half year and CNY 600/year.

You will need to meet your own travel expenses, accommodation charges, living expenses and any additional spending money.

Accommodation

Office of International Students will offer the on-campus accommodation to study abroad students. Cost will depend on where students live. Students are free to find an apartment outside campus.
