First-aid

1.Some common first aid situations

Whenthe patient is taken to the hospital, the head of the patient shouldbe oriented in the opposite direction to the vehicle carrying him,for example, the ambulance, the airplane, etc., so as to avoidfurther blood loss in the patient's brain due to the accelerationeffect.

(Alcoholism)

If the patient vomits, immediately put patient in a stable lateralposition, let the vomiting flow out, keep the patient warm, especially in wet and cold conditions, closely monitor the condition, check every 10 minutes and record the respiratory pulse and degree ofreaction.

(Nose Bleeding)

Tilt slightly forward and hold the cartilage under the nose bridge with your fingers for 5-15 minutes. If necessary, putting a small ice bag on the nose bridge can also quickly stop the bleeding.1.jpg扭伤(Sprain)

Within 24 hours of sprain, try to compress it with ice bags every hour, every half hour, wrap the injured area with elastic bandage, and put the injured part. After 24 hours, start to change to a hot compress to promote blood circulation in the injured area.2.jpg

(Foreign Particles in Eyes)

Blink eyes vigorously and frequently, washes the foreign particles out with tears, pinches the eyelids if they don't work, and then rinses the eyes under the tap.

2. American’s society popular first aid

By implementing emergency care in an emergency condition, you can help sick or injured people before emergency medical services arrive. Check the scene and the injured person before treating the patient or injured person. Adjust the scene size to form a preliminary impression.

Is it safe to enter the scene?

What happened?

How many people participated?

What is my first impression of the nature of the patient's illness or injury? Does the patient have any life-threatening conditions, such as severe and life-threatening bleeding?

Is there anyone else who can help?

Get Consent: Tell each other your name, describe the type and level of training, indicate what you think is wrong and what you intend to do, and ask for permission to provide care.

Tell the bystander to get the first aid kit: Speak loudly to the bystander.4.jpg

Wear gloves (if there is).

Interview the patients: Use sample questions to collect more information about symptoms and signs, allergies, medications, related medical history, last food or drink, and any events leading to this events.

Head-to-foot examinations: Examine the head and neck, shoulders, chest and abdomen, buttocks, legs and feet, arms and hands for signs of injury.

3. The Significance of Activities

Maybe you think first aid is the job of medical staff,

But it is unavoidable for everyone to have some critical situations, even accidental injuries.

Even if you are not injured by any illness, in the working and living environment, on the way to travel, sometimes you will encounter intense and unexpected situations, which need your help.

Therefore, learning first aid knowledge is a very important and meaningful.

So we organize this activity in BIT in order to enable students to learn some first aid knowledge, prevent emergencies from accidents that occur.
