At the Beijing Institute of Technology, international student awards in the fields of arts, music, sports and more have been plentiful over the years.
高等教育无疑是最具国际化特征的行业之一，也是多元人才带来积极影响的最佳例证。在北京理工大学（BIT），这一点体现得尤为明显，特别是在国际竞赛领域成果斐然。
Arguably one of the economy’s most international industries, higher education provides a prime example of the benefits that a diversity of talent can provide. At the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), these benefits are clearly on show, especially where international competitions are concerned.
北理工的国际学生在各类竞赛中表现出色。例如，在由北京市人民对外友好协会主办的“我与北京”征文比赛中，北理工学生荣获一等奖。来自埃及、韩国、沙特阿拉伯、老挝等12个国家的30余名学生参赛，作品展现了他们在北京的友谊与对汉语学习的热情。
International students at BIT have performed impressively in various competitions, including taking first place in the Me and Beijing essay competition, co-organised by the Beijing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. More than 30 students from 12 countries, including Egypt, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and Laos, took part in the prize, with entrants celebrating their friendships in Beijing and their experiences with the Chinese language.
此外，2018年“留学中国”系列活动中，北理工有五位学生获得“优秀来华留学生”奖项。越南学生罗诗云还在《人民日报》海外版发表文章，分享她在中国的课堂学习和生活体验，语言真挚、感情充沛。
Other success stories include the 2018 Study in China competition, during which five BIT students were granted the Outstanding International Student award. Additionally, Luo Shiyun, a Vietnamese student at BIT, was published in the overseas edition of People's Daily. In the article, Shiyun spoke glowingly of her time both inside and outside the classroom.
语言与文化密不可分。为帮助国际学生更好融入中国社会，北理工鼓励大家深入学习汉语，从而更充分地享受校园生活、融入新环境。在2019年第八届“在京外国留学生汉语之星”评选活动中，来自马来西亚、哈萨克斯坦的北理工学生斩获佳绩，教师翟文婷和刘哲也获得了优秀指导奖。
With language and culture being closely intertwined, international students are encouraged to get acquainted with the Chinese language to ensure they get the most from their university experience and are able to contribute to their new home. Reflecting this priority, BIT students and faculty were awarded during the eighth annual Beijing Overseas Students’ Chinese Language Star competition in 2019. In addition to BIT students from Malaysia and Kazakhstan being honoured, instructors Zhai Wenting and Liu Zhe were also commended.
文化交流在北理工丰富多彩的艺术活动中同样大放异彩。每年秋季音乐会，来自世界各地的学生登台献艺，演奏传统与现代音乐，展示多元文化交融的魅力。此外，北理工的国际学生还在“来华杯”书法大赛中取得优异成绩。该赛事吸引了来自北京31所高校的50多名留学生，成为弘扬中国传统文化的重要平台。
The cultural exchange that universities like BIT benefit from is on display throughout a stirring artistic programme. BIT’s autumn concert provides an annual opportunity to showcase musical talent, with students from across the globe performing traditional and modern songs. The institution’s international students have also achieved great results in the Laihua Cup calligraphy competition. The event, which attracted more than 50 foreign students from 31 universities in Beijing, provided a fantastic opportunity to spread traditional Chinese culture among learners from various walks of life.
体育运动同样是加强文化纽带的重要方式。2019年首都高校国际学生武术比赛吸引了来自18所北京高校、52个国家的参赛者，北理工也积极参与。2023年，北理工代表队在该赛事中勇夺6枚金牌，展现了精湛技艺和团结精神。
Sports provide similar opportunities to strengthen cultural bonds. In 2019, the Wushu Competition for International Students in Capital Universities saw entrants arrive from 18 Beijing universities, including BIT, hailing from 52 countries. In 2023, the BIT team won six gold medals during the competition.
无论是在学术、艺术、语言还是体育领域，国际学生始终是北理工不可或缺的一部分。他们在体验中华文化的同时，也在音乐、武术等多个舞台上创造了属于自己的精彩时刻。
International students have always contributed greatly to BIT’s success. Across academia, sports, arts and language, these students have found countless opportunities to engage in many uniquely Chinese experiences. At the same time, they have provided stand-out moments across numerous fields from music to martial arts.
目前，北理工拥有来自150个国家的2,700多名全日制国际学生，并与全球400多所高校建立了合作交流关系。多样性的国际学生群体，使北理工在全球高等教育领域持续发挥桥梁作用，推动文化交流、增进国际理解。
Alongside more than 2,700 full-time international students hailing from 150 countries, BIT has signed exchange programme agreements with over 400 partner universities worldwide. The presence of a sizable number of international students at BIT ensures that the university continues to take a leading role in ensuring the higher education space strengthens cultural bonds stretching across the globe.
