The School of Chemistry was founded in 1951, with its comprehensive strength and international influence at the top of domestic schools and some of its research reaching a leading edge internationally. In 2011,the school ranked No.452 among the 1,034 international institutions listed in ESI International Academic Evaluation TOP 1%. During the past five years, the teachers of the School of Chemistry here have made significant academic achievements: over 400 SCI papers have been published, among which over 150 papers were published in J. Am ChemSoc, ADV. Mater., ACS Nano and other high-level academic journals. The school offers undergraduate programs in Pure Chemistry and Applied Chemistry, and Master’ sand Doctoral programs in the first-level chemical disciplines.
During the undergraduate period, the main disciplines of the school are pure chemistry and applied chemistry. The focuses on basic chemistry theory and research, and basic chemistry experiments conducted through modern techniques and instruments.
During graduate period, students will systematically study and master in-depth expertise theory in the chemistry engineering field. Moreover, students can work independently and undertake professional technical or management work. Graduates are competent for teaching and scientific research work in related fields.
The School of Chemistry places high value on the internationalization of higher education and carries out a wide range of substantial academic exchanges and cooperation with the universities and research institutions in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan and Austria. These programs have all enhanced the quality of talent training and the level of scientific research.
